About Woman of Impact

Why Get Involved with Woman of Impact?

Woman of Impact is a call to action for changemakers to improve the lives of women in every community we serve.
Over nine powerful weeks, nominees and their Impact Teams rally around women’s heart health—raising awareness, sharing lifesaving education and driving change through advocacy, community engagement and fundraising.

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in women, yet only 44% recognize it as their greatest health threat.
Most cardiovascular diseases are still preventable. Woman of Impact challenges nominees to raise critical funds, drive awareness for women’s heart health and mental well-being, and advocate for policies that protect and save lives.

With support from the American Heart Association, every nominee builds a custom campaign to maximize their reach and impact.
It all begins on National Wear Red Day®, the first Friday in February, sparking a nationwide movement to rewrite the future of women’s heart health.

Do you know someone who is ready to make an impact?

“It was important for me to participate in Go Red for Women’s Woman of Impact because every woman deserves a heart-healthy future, which is why it’s critical to prioritize preventing heart disease and stroke for the women in our communities. I am honored to have received this recognition and am excited to continue working alongside the American Heart Association to help ensure all women know their risk factors and have the information they need to live longer, healthier lives.”
